Schedule before the delivery.
The photo shoot scheduling for a newborn photography shoot can turn out to be really tricky. You see, there is a 10 day window that you need to stick to if you would like to make sure that you get to capture the baby in all of his innocent babyhood. After the first 10 days, a newborn baby typically gets a growth spurt and he appears to change. This is something that you would have to document before he goes through that particular phase. The reason why this is hard is because although your doctor is bound to give you an estimated time for the delivery date, you don’t really know for sure what the actual delivery date will actually be. It may come early or it may come late and this is why setting up a newborn photography shoot based on the session date alone is setting things up for failure. This is not the right way for you to get a handle on things while you are at it. Talk to your newborn photographer about this. He has had more experience in doing this than you have. He can really help you a lot with that so try to see what you can do about that.
Go for experience.
If it is a newborn photography shoot that you are planning to pull off at the end of the day, then you need someone who specializes in newborn photography in the first place. Just about any photographer with no specific niche will not do. You need to know for sure that you really are getting someone who happens to be experienced and who has obviously done this so many more times before. You need to make sure that this is taken into account the right way at some point or so. Go through someone’s portfolio to see if that photographer is indeed what you have been looking for in the photo shoot that you have been wanting to plan out.
Props can go a long way.
Bring along anything that you might want to include in the photos that are being taken of your newborn baby. You can go with the usual stuff that you see online on apps such as Pinterest and the like or you can personalize the photo shoot even more by bringing along any family heirlooms or any special pieces that you think might be really interesting and visually appeasing in the photos that are to be shot.
Milk and toys.
Babies need one just like the other and as a parent, forgetting either one could not only mean that you aren’t bringing you’re A-game to the shoot but that you are being neglectful as well. Prep them ahead of time so that you don’t end up forgetting despite the rush. A baby who is hungry and bored or irritated could easily result to throwing a tantrum that will ruin your photo shoot altogether. Nip it right in the bud by ensuring that you get it taken care of the right way in the first place.
